Let's talk about ... Moving Beyond Fear in 2024

Everyone find themselves dealing with challenges in life. This is the year for you to move toward achieving your goals. I want to encourage you to make 3 goals this year.

You are going to pray about it to make sure its in line with what the Lord has for you this year.

You are going to check in every 3 months to see how you are doing with your goals. Checking in every 3 months will keep your goals on your mind. Now along the way you may run into some difficulties and I want you to know where to go when things go wrong. According to John 14:27,

<span face="Inter, SourceSerifPro, -apple-system, "system-ui", "Segoe UI", Roboto, Oxygen, Ubuntu, Cantarell, "Fira Sans", "Droid Sans", "Helvetica Neue", sans-serif" style="background-color: white; color: #121212; font-size: 23px;">Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

Now as you move towards achieving your goals you need to know that if things go wrong make sure you remember to come to the Lord. Women tend to have lots of responsibilities in their family, work and society at large so when you have so much to do and people depend on you this can cause you to become stressed.

The pressures of balancing your career, family and personal goals can create stress or anxiety in our lives. If you are not careful you can let fear creep up into your mind.

God reminds us that he offers us peace during times of difficulties. The peace he has for us is totally different from what the world calls peace. God is so awesome his peace doesn't depend on anyone's approval, it doesn't matter how high you have succeeded in society, or if you haven't done anything.

God says he will give us refuge in the storm of life. Stop being afraid, that is not from God.

This year God plan for you is that you move forward. That means trust him and leave all your burdens with him and embrace His divine calmness. Leave all the negativity or push back with the Lord, he want to give you a space for peace.

Fear can paralyze you, it doesn't matter if its fear of failure, rejection, or just fear of the unknown. As you move forward this year dont forget God is right there if you need him. Don't let people try to stress or distract you because the Lord is right there if you need him.

Do not be afraid come to your heavenly father if you need him.

<span face="Inter, SourceSerifPro, -apple-system, "system-ui", "Segoe UI", Roboto, Oxygen, Ubuntu, Cantarell, "Fira Sans", "Droid Sans", "Helvetica Neue", sans-serif" style="background-color: white; color: #121212; font-size: 23px;">

Inspiring Modern Christian Women on their Journey in Life
Sistergirlhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15953555977790444949noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30534895.post-1614354630713272022021-12-30T22:44:00.001-05:002021-12-30T22:44:28.715-05:00Are Christians Sinning with Vision Boards?Sisters in Christ, Come on in and grab a cup of tea.
Let's talk about ... Are Christians Sinning With Vision Boards?

It's that time of the year. Time to make memories, plan and make new goals. Many people use this time of the year to have Vision Board Parties. A Vision Board Party normally is a party where people have a bunch or magazines, poster board, color pencils and they just chat about and share their hopes and desires with those in the room. That has been my experience with Vision Board parties.

I don't know about some of these questionable occult type of Vision Parties but here is the reality anyone can pervert anything. Now if you are into the occult I think everything you do would be perverted in reality.

Many Christian women I personally know do not have those type of Vision Board Parties. They use these type of parties to minister to women who do not participate in traditional church activities. They use these parties as a Women outreach activity to fellowship with different type of women.

Every year people tend to reflect and renew their personal plans and goals. Many Christians take this time to reflecting on what God wants you to do in their ministry and personal life. Some people will even use January as a time to fast and hear from the Lord.

Vision Board? Is it some sort of occult practice, repackaged? Some Christians feel that making. a Vision Board makes one focus on themselves in a vain way. Some people even see Vision Boards as a form of idol worship and not focusing on God.

As Christians you know that your heart is everything. If you have issues worshipping idols, or struggle being vain maybe you can't participate in creating a Vision Board. Don't do anything that will make you sin.

However for everyone else, I'm not a "Scary Christian" and I consult with the Lord before all decisions.It is important if you feel making a Vision Board will cause you to sin, you should not make one because you can't handle it. But as a creative person I read Habakkuk 2:2-

Then the LORD replied: “Write down the revelation and make it plain on tablets so

that a herald may run with it.

I personally do not see making a Vision Board or writing down goals as slight to the Lord. As Christians we seek the Lord with all our decisions and ideas and we wait for the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

However if you feel you are sinning and you don't understand how God gives you goals and the desires of your heart that are align with His Will, then you shouldn't participate in such events. Search your heart and don't do anything that may tempt you to sin.

Inspiring Modern Christian Women on their Journey in Life
Sistergirlhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15953555977790444949noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30534895.post-34913932732362599822021-12-02T22:44:00.002-05:002021-12-02T23:03:04.810-05:00Are You Thankful?

What is your Wilderness Experience?

Sisters in Christ, Come on in and grab a cup of tea.
Let's talk about ... Being Thankful

Are you thankful? Yes, are you thankful with your life or current situation?

Well, take a moment and think about it. Do you remember when Moses helped the children of Israel escape from the Pharaoh and they crossed the red sea. Then they were wandering in the wilderness towards the Promise Land.

Do you realize that some times when we experience hardship, when we are in the midst of it we can't think straight because of the burdens and distraction of the situation. All they could do was yearn for relief... they just wanted some type of change.

However, something happened to the children once they got on the other side of the Red Sea. As they wandered towards their blessing they got distracted with the small stuff of life which got them to move their eyes from their blessing.

Well they knew what they were promised. They knew God's yeas were yeas, they witnessed God's miracles in their life but for some reason despite all they witnessed they let doubt creep into their heart.

They began to complain. Yes, complain. What are you complaining about in your life? Is your complaints rooted in fear and doubt? Who is the source of lies, fear and doubt in our life?

The children of Israel were so impatient that they even wished to return back to Egypt and even return back to slavery. They never realize its easier to talk about being faithful and trusting God until you really have to relinquish your will in your life and trust the Savior when you don't see how the end will be.

Having faith means trusting in or having confidence in something you can not see. The children of Israel started to complain about everything not being how they wanted it to be. The more they complained the more their faith in the promise God gave them decreased.

No matter what you are experiencing right now, God is telling you not to choose to complain. He is telling you to have faith that what you are experiencing right now is just temporary. He hasn't forgotten about you. He keeps his word and keep your eyes on what is to come. Don't let your circumstance distract you in a negative way.

The bible reminds us: Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you who belong to Jesus. -1 Thessalonians 5:18

Inspiring Modern Christian Women on their Journey in Life
Sistergirlhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15953555977790444949noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30534895.post-31873153168412334922021-10-23T15:10:00.002-04:002021-10-23T15:10:18.548-04:00Bible Journaling

Bible Journaling

Sisters in Christ, Come on in and grab a cup of tea.

Sisters in Christ,

If you are a believe in Christ why are you not living the life you love. If we believe the word of God is true shouldn't we trust God more? Why are many of of living in places we hate? Why are we going to jobs we hate? Why do we continue in friendships that do not help us grow? Why are we settling for lest that God's best? Is the real issue that Christian women do not really trust God? Do you equate God's love of you to your earthly love and relationships? If we truly trust God then we should believe that nothing is impossible for him. If we have dreams that seem impossible and God put the ideas in our head. Why wouldn't God give us the steps we need to take to achieve our goals?

This year its time for you to move and stop making excuses. If you need to sell somethings then do it, if you need to save some money get another job, if you need to go back to school do it and stop making excuses. Ladies if God can heal the sick and make the blind see, why can't he help you achieve your goals.

According to scripture as long as we are doing things according to his word the Lord will bless us. That mean stop doing wrong in your life, yes I am talking about those secret sins from stealing WIFI and cable, cheating on your taxes, to getting that hook up you know is wrong then the Lord will bless your dreams. Some of you need to stop talkiong to some people, stop visiting some places, stop watching things that is not making you a good testimony. This year its time for you to clean things up and walk into your destiny.

Sisters in Christ,

Come on in and grab a cup of tea.
Let's talk about ... Its Time For Change.
Are you feeling stuck? Are you feeling unsatisfied with your job? Are you tired of you your daily routine? Do you seek change?

What are some things that are bothering you in your life? Is it your job, finances, weight or dream?
Is it something that you can change this year? Is it an issue that will take 5 years to correct. You are the only person who knows your true passion. What are 3 thing you would love to do this year. Write them down. Then you should pray to see if those things are in the Will of God. You want to make sure that you are in line with the desires of the Lord.

Yes the Lord will guide you in the right direction. Now as Christian we know fear is not of God. So we can't worry about things we can't control. Realize God wants to give us the desires of our heart as long as its not ungodly desires. Make sure your dreams this year are not coming true based on your negative mind. Now, realize anytime you move towards change you will have many who will be against you. Ignore the noise of negativity and do what you want in life. Change is hard but you will have a more fulfilling life.

Sisters in Christ, Come on in and grab a cup of tea.
Let's talk about ...Declutter the Stress in Your Life.

Peace, I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. John 14:27

According to several research findings, almost 18 million Americans take the drug Prozac to help them cope with some sort of stress. Over 70 million people go to their doctor for some sort of sleeping problem. Many Americans choose not to use their vacations days. However, when asked many working Americans admit that they are stressed-out daily.

Living a peaceful life, free from stress is important to God. However, in reality many Christians are not living the type of life the Lord has for them. As a Christian you can't let sickness, stress, tiredness, or anxiety get the best of you because it shows a lack of trust in God. You can not control what happens to you in a day. You can control how you react to your problems. The main thing we need to do is to give our cares to the Lord. Psalm 55:22 says Cast your care a on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken (NIV).

Start Small.

You do not have to make big changes in order to have peace. Start Small with decluttering. Take time to declutter your life both your mental or physical space. Pack up old things or the things you no longer find useful. The rule is if you haven't used it or wore it in a year throw it out. You don't have to just throw things away, you can also make money with the things you no longer want.

1. Thred Up

2. Poshmark

3. Snob Swap

4. Ebay

5. Josies Friends (kids)

Starting small to declutter will help your wallet feel better and you will realize that you do not need so many things just taking up space.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: medium;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: medium;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: small;">Sisters in Christ, Come on in and grab a cup of tea.
Let's talk about ...Eating Clean<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: small;">.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">On a recent trip to the grocery store I decided to take the time to read labels. I was so surprised to see that many of my normal packaged food was filled with Genetically Modified Organism (GMO), hormones and preservatives, even the most simple item was filled with so much chemicals. That began my quest for a change. I almost went into the stock room to find a package food that was free from GMOs. That's when I decided to investigate this "Clean Eating" rage.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">The term "Clean Eating" is in all the media outlets, but what does it mean to eat clean? It is simply just eating process free food. That means you try to buy the fresh carrots instead of those in a can with a year expiration date. You try to stay away from with so many chemicals you can't even pronounce. Foods drenched in colors, flavors, preservatives, artificial sweeteners, chemicals, pesticides, herbicides, are not considered clean. When you eat clean try to grow your own, by local or organic.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">This is nothing new for Christians, the bible speaks about food and a healthy life but it seems like most people like to skip those chapters. Some people like to dismiss that part of the bible and say well that was bible days until sickness knocks on their door. The sad thing is than many people do not eat properly for years, they wait until all they can do is take pills with its numerous side affects. Then the side effects causes new diseases.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">When was the last time you remember a sermon on food in church? I can't say I have ever heard one. Not one. Growing up I never realize how what I fed my temple was important to God. We all know about not feeding your body drugs and alcohol, but I never heard a pastor or preacher or religious person say anything about sugar or controling your food intake.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">The bible speaks about good and bad foods. Imagine God provided the Hebrews in the Promised land 7 foods: wheat, barley, grapes, figs, pomegranates, olives and honey. Its funny how Leviticus 11 and Deuteronomy 14 keeps it simple and tells believers how to eat so you can have a healthy life but for some reason society is now turning away from simple real food. The Bible tells us we can enjoy things like: cows, sheep, deer, goats, chicken, turkey, duck, geese, salmon, tuna, flounder, pike and herring. However, today we have to read and make sure that are mean hasn't been shot up with so many chemicals that it will affect our own health.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">I have personally notice that more and more of my friends between the age of 28 - 45 are looking and feeling like they are 80 years old with all their weight, pain and chronic illness. Let's be honest many are from the fast food generation and as a result of all those quick meals you look bad and feel bad. The sad thing is the older you get the more likely you are to have some kind of disease many of which are food related.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">The truth is we are all have to learn self control. If we can not do it then we need to consult the Lord in our time of weakness. This is not an impossible task to change your diet. Believers know that there is nothing impossible for God. No one is making you continue to eat foods grown with fertilizers, pesticides and even sewage sludge (which is just treated human waste) and not think our bodies will be affected.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">Anytime you change anything in your life it takes time. Only a fool knows there is a problem and do nothing to change it. Let me encourage you to take some simple steps on making a difference in your health.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">Steps to Eating Clean:

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: xx-small;">1. Clean out your refrigerator and cabinets, try to get rid of all those processed and fast foods that you think are making your life convenient.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">2. Try buying more organic food not at those fancy overpriced stores, your local store should have an organic section or organic line that is not too expensive. Buy in bulk or online like at Amazon. Join a local collective there are many community farms even in urban areas. It will take you time to figure out how to shop organic without breaking your wallet but to your health its worth it.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">3. Start reading labels. When you read the package labels you will be shocked by all the ingredients and sugar levels as well as all those weird chemicals and additives.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">It is not difficult to change your eating from dirty chemicals to a more natural clean diet. Start with small changes and you will be surprise at how much more energy you will begin to notice. Take time and research what the Bible says about food such as the Daniel fast. Your health is not only important to your family it is important to God because its hard to get one active in ministry when you sick and tired.

Sisters in Christ, Come on in and grab a cup of tea.
Let's talk about Downsizing to Free Yourself for God.

I know many of you love prosperity preaching. However, I would like some of you to analyze what you are doing with a our stuff and prosperity to help the kingdom of God?

Everyone love nice things. We all love an upgrade from our cellphones to our Smart TV's. But for some of us the Lord have been trying to get our attention to tell us we need a total lifestyle change. We need to move our thinking from more to less.

In a capitalistic society having less sounds crazy. However, the Lord tell us in his word to be good stewards. That means with our money and possessions. What does that mean in reference to our lifestyle? The Lord loves to bless us but many of our families are not living on a level where our lifestyle is really a blessing to others. If you feel the Lord is urging you to downsize. I want to encourage you that this is an attainable goal. It is possible despite all the American consumerism to downsize your life and help others. Living a downsize life can be emotionally and spiritually freeing.

Some of you may feel this is a nice concept but the Lord has been speaking to someone that its time to make a drastic change. My challenge to every reader is to just find one closet and just clean it out totally. If its 100% full try to cut it down to half full then a quarter. Let the spirit of the Lord move you to the right amount of change is right for you. The hardest part for most people is actually letting go of the stuff you think you need or want.

Some people the Lord is telling you to downsize your car or house. Some people the Lord has stirred up a ministry that you can't do because you are bound by stuff. Everyone in America have been socialize to think you need more and more stuff. It's always hard to change your life but once you do you will feel so free to hear the voice of the Lord.

Sisters in Christ, Come on in and grab a cup of tea.
Let's talk about ... Yogis Fooling Christian Women
to Worship Another God.

I was shock when a first lady said she had to first go to her Yoga class before she went to church. I was like what, you practice Yoga? I think she was shock that I knew the truth about Yoga. She went on to try to justify why it was okay for her to take part in this "exercise" class. Then I spoke to other Christian women who felt the same way. But the only problem is that I am not quite sure if they ever read many of the Bible passages that make it clear that Yoga is a bad thing. I wanted to share with my blog readers that if your are a Christian think about what you are doing every week that maybe part of the Occult.

Many modern Christian women seem to be desensitized by the fact that practicing Yoga is a form of worship. Even though they know the Lord is a jealous God, they still refuse to give up the practice and continue to worship other gods (many are personal and inactive diety). Yoga is a gateway practice that leads to pluralism and New Age.

Many modern women today are trying to integrate yoga and Eastern spirituality with Christian prayer and meditation.Thinking that they actually getting close to the Lord. It's awful to see Christian women trying to mix the two religions. However for centuries everyone knew east and west don't mix.

It doesn't make sense to me that many Christians seek the advice of Yogis as to whether this goes against Christianity. A Yogi is a person who is a master of yoga. Their job is to get more clients. Why not ask your pastor if Christians should be taking part in Yoga?" A Church pastor knows Christianity. I think many modern ladies just want to be disobedient to our Lord and Savior and do what they want. Ladies let's keep it real.

According to the website of Yogi Master, Worhipful Sri Maharaj about their belief system:
Yoga teaches you the truth that every one has within oneself various potentialities and capacities. Man has within himself tremendous powers and latent faculties of which be has really never had any conception. He must awaken these dormant powers and faculties by the practice of Yoga. You can transmit your powerful, soul-stirring, beneficial thoughts to others; because, Yoga tells you, you are an image of God, nay, you are God Himself. The inner essence in you is Omnipotent. The moment the veil of ignorance enshrouding you is rent asunder you will shine in all the Splendour and Glory of the Effulgent Reality. Everyone of you is a power in yourself.

The bible talks about many people trying to be on the same level as Our Lord. If you are a Christian practicing Yoga the Lord is not pleased that you are using your body as a vehicle to achieve an altered state of consciousness with an unholy spirit. "Oh I just use Yoga... as exercise ...to reduce stress... to meditate." Don't make excuses for doing wrong. The Bible is clear, God's people are to have nothing to do with wicked customs. Yoga comes from the practice of Buddhism or Hinduism. Yoga is an ancient practices repackaged for the American market. However, the Bible is very clear to Christian Women.

Let's read Deuteronomy 18: 9-14 on Bible Gateway:
You know the history of Yoga. Yoga fits the criteria of wicked customs.

Sisters in Christ, Come on in and grab a cup of tea.
Let's talk about ...Are You Sad This Holiday Season?

Sadness and the Christmas holiday do not go together. Unfortunately, I have been running into so many sad, mean and angry women this holiday season.

I don't know why there seems to be an increase of Scrooges or people just feeling "humbug." However, Moms tend to set the tone for their household so if mom is sad, everyone in the house will be grumpy. The sadness may be a result of people taking Christ out of Christmas. Every where I turn I have been hearing people complaining about purchasing gifts, decorating their home and even cooking Christmas Dinners. Many churches have even done away with the annual Christmas plays. I notice that many of the store clerks no longer wish customers "Merry Christmas." Many moms are driving themselves crazy about trying to purchase electronic games and devices their children want that they can not afford. Why would you be sad at the happiest time of the year?

Where does your sadness come from? Can you trace your sadness to a negative childhood
experience? Are you feeling down because of sadness, guilt, hopelessness, fatigue, and a variety of other symptoms. Have you let your current circumstance trigger sadness in your life. The thing I love about being a Christian is that we become a "new" creature so our past no longer defines us. The Enemy will use this spiritual holiday season to try to get you sad or resentful about your past. Some of you have been even tricked by the enemy to believe that your love should equated to the type of gift you give. If you really love me then I should have a big or expensive gift.

I have been surrounded by negativity lately, a mom at my local mom group meeting brag that her family is skipping Christmas because of her children behavior in school. How awful I thought to myself, taking Christmas from a child because one can not forgive their bad behavior. The sad thing is that Jesus is all about forgiveness and second chance. However, more and more moms are letting their negative attitudes cause them to fall into depression. There is no such thing as a perfect Christmas so you can't let that standard in your head discourage you from enjoying your family.

But what if you are sad because your family is really bad. What if you have a family that really sucks and Christmas seems to remind you of their shortcomings. I think that sometimes we forget that the other side of the Christmas story is all about Trusting God.

Look at the story in a different way. Imagine if Mary was a modern girl, like you, what would her story be in plain English? I am working on my Masters Degree hoping to finish soon. I have rent to pay, I engaged to man has it going on. I am trying to figure out how I am going to pay for my wedding. Then an angel tells me I will be pregnant when the Holy Spirit comes. You and I would be rightfully depressed about the possible scandal. However, Mary decided not to be Debbie Downer, or be sad or depressed. She decided to just TRUST GOD.

One was to Trust God is to praise him. Romans15:11 reminds us to "praise the Lord." That means thanking him for what you do have. Thank him for the health and strength to go through your situation. Take a moment and pray that the Lord teach you how to release everything to Him and change your negative attitude. If you think your sadness may be clinical depression then use the resources the Lord has in the world and see a doctor. Remember the Lord can heal any disease or disorder or any circumstance in your life.
Let's talk about ... Turn Thrift Store Find into Fashion Statement.

I know everyone is thinking about the brand new gift they want for Christmas. However, not everyone can afford something NEW. I love clothes and I love thrifting. Thrifting forces one to be a good steward with their money. That's a biblical statement. I realize after looking at my out of control closet that I have wasted a lot of money on clothes I don't like or wear. I've been trying to figure out what to do with all the clothes I don't care for.

Blog: Bee In My Bonnet

Thrifting have allowed me to change my style.
I have been forced to become more creative. I have been able to buy unusual colors in shoes
because if I had to buy full price

I would stay with neutral colors. I have found some great designer merchandise at a cheap price.

I have a love for clothes and as a plus size girl
I have had a hard time finding things that fit to my body shape. Thrifting has allowed me to get into sewing and tailoring my fashion.

I am in the process of developing a Shop My Closet website, just for plus size fashionistas. I have some great pieces that are quite unique and appropriate for church but still stylish. I figured if I sell my things I will have money to shop. I guess I will be saving the environment by recycling. That is a good thing too.

"Upcycle" or "Re-Fashioning" is another great thrift shop technique to save money. To can make something out of your thrifty find. This is great for all creative girls out there. It takes a certain type of eye to see the possibilities in a material. I love this because it also teaches you to be content. It means that in your closet you truly have everything you need. You can make something out of nothing.

Please tell me about your thrift store adventure.
Thanks for Hoppin By, Come on in and grab a cup of tea.
Let's talk about ... Do you take time to rest?

I know taking time to rest is hard for most moms. We live in a world where we feel the pressure to be plugged in. I recently heard someone at church brag that they never take a day off from work... or they were so proud to say that they never use their vacation day.

I just came back from by Caribbean adventure in December so I really can't relate. Is this practice is a generational thing?

Why in the world would anyone deny themselves of REST?

Who cares that when you retire you will get a check for unused leave? I never heard of such a practice. The thing that got me was that this church sister was acting life this practice was some sort of biblical thing to show her dedication.

The bible reminds us that the Lord rested on the Sabbath. Growing up in my home we were not allowed to do any kind of work at all. No completing homework, washing clothes, folding, going out besides church and serving dinner. My mom completed a majority of our Sunday dinner on Saturday. I guess, by todays standard that may be harsh; however, this reminded me that Sunday was a different type of day.

Most people have vacation days as a benefit or perk for working at a company. Why in the world wouldn't one enjoy it. I sat there and thought about how many fun family events one would miss. How many family traditions that could have been made. Imagine, how much ones quality of life could have changed if one just took the time to separate and relax?

In Mark 6:31 it reminds us, “Come away by yourselves to a desolate place and rest a while.” For many were coming and going, and they had no leisure even to eat.

It is not a sin to enjoy life or take some time to just relax. Vacation doesn't have to be expensive.
You can take a day trip or even a stay-cation at home. If you like a little adventure you can visit National Parks, or just go to the beach. I think everyone should take time and do something for themselves.

I don't know if this thought is an isolated issue however, I hope all Modern Christian women are not afraid to take a vacation somewhere or just take time to relax. The reality is that when you decide to leave your job. Your position will more than likely be replaced. It is so important for everyone to take a mental break. This affects your health and you should me important to yourself.

I am just curious, how many of you don't take a yearly vacation and why?

Sisters in Christ, Come on in and grab a cup of tea.
Let's talk about ...Christians Not Doing their Best.

What is in a name? Do you define yourself as a Christian? Are you one of those people who love quoting the bible but you don't actually live the word? As Christians we tend to react to things and situation and sometimes we are not transparent as we know the Lord want us to be. I guess because we have a fear that we may hurt or discourage someone.

I am personally sick of running into "trifling" Christians, I don't know how else to say it. From the rude clerk working at the Christian bookstore to that hairdresser who is always late but blast her gospel music. I am even sick of that bible quoting homeschool co-op trying to shake families down with one more fundraiser or fees.

Well, now let me get all in your business.

How would your friends, employers and neighbors describe you and your work? I have been noticing something lately, maybe its just an east coast thing but I am running into more and more so called "Christians" who are not living up to a standard of excellence.

You know those people I am talking about those who come to work late and lleave early, those who "borrow" supplies from work, those who ask their friends to sign them in on the time clock and know they are stealing time. Those so called Christians who do not operate in their gifts.

You know those people I am talking about those who have programs at the church who never heard from the voice of the Lord or even took the time to plan their program out. Those who want the credit but are not willing to do the work to get the credit. I am also sick of those of you who straight pimp the church you know who you are... you might not be selling goods in the church but you are very close.

I just want to let you know that other Christians notice your ways and we are sick and tire of you. I wish I had the opportunity to flip a table just to get your attention. If you call yourself a Christian it should mean something. It means my example is Christ. It means I am humbling myself to his word.
I means I operate only after consulting him. It means in the barest term that I die, my desire dies.

I am so tired of "bobo head" Christians. Those of you who have been in church so long that now its just a ritual or game to you. However, you are leading Christian ministries you are in no way qualified to lead.

If you open a Christian school it should be the best school around. Why nickle and dime people? why lie to parents. Why are you not taking the time to make your program excellent? That is what Jesus would do. Why do churches continue to let their cousins, uncles, or father become Deacons, Elders or Pastors when everyone knows they called themselves for these positions? I am sick and tired that there is no quality control person out there to measure all those people, products, ministries that call themselves Christians. There are a bunch of trashy mess out their under the label of Christianity when it is so obvious that these people or leaders of ministries have forgotten to that the time to read Christ word.

I hope you are a different person, I hope that nonbelievers look at you and what you do and smile and say, Wow? Now, that is a Christian.

Sisters in Christ, Come on in and grab a cup of tea.

Let's talk about ... Why I Quit My Co op. Isn't that awful! I had to quit my co op.

Well, you all know this is my
first year homeschooling. I am a excited newbie, homeschooling a high schooler and an elementary school student.

I had all these great ideas about my vision for our homeschool experience. I wanted to give my kids a great Christian educational experience.

I didn't think I could do everything on my own so I thought why not join a Christian co op where I could have the best of both worlds. They could meet other Christian homeschoolers and be a part of the Christian homeschool community. I have older kids so connecting with a group for socialization is so important. We also were seeking stimulating class experiences

.My kids were bored in traditional school so we were looking for unusual class offerings or classes taught in an interactive manner. I wanted some of the social things that make school fun like Spirit Days, dances and stimulating field trips. My kids wanted cooking, music, fencing, science. tennis, Spanish, Latin, and Logic classes. We really thought it would be easy to find this for older homeschoolers.

Well, it is not easy to find resources for older homeschoolers and not everyone shares the same vision. The program we joined did not meet the vision advertised. The program was a little classical but the staff didn't seem to understand what that quite meant.

I was a bit angry that this church
co-op didn't do things as advertised. However, I did hear the voice of the Lord tell me to leave right away.

It is so hard to stop or quick something when it just started and you notice things are not going right.
After 8 weeks of driving a hour away we final took a stand and said enough is enough. We were so disappointed that our vision just died. It was so quick. I felt I was not only betrayed by traditional school but also by homeschoolers. Change can be difficult but when the Lord tells you to do something you have to listen. He knows the ins and outs. He knows the drama to come. I thank the Lord for giving me the strength to regroup and move on. Later we found out other seasoned homeschoolers felt the same way about the program but since they had history with the director they would stay and remain silent.

I was so happy I stepped out on faith because the Lord led us to a better group. It is through a local museum. The program is larger and more organized. The best thing is that it is so close to my house.
I felt the whole situation was a teachable moment. I was able to teach my kids the importance of leaving a situation when things seem wrong and being confident in your decisions once you pray about your situations.

When a situation isn't right the Lord tells us but sometimes we are not paying attention. I told my oldest son imagine if you went to a college party and you saw things in a room that look like drugs but you were not sure what was going on but you hear the whisper of the Lord telling you to leave. What do you do? Sometimes all the Lord does is give us a whisper or thought and it may be quick. You may not have time to make a decision.

After my 8 week adventure with the wrong co-op the Lord is leading me to develop that co-op I was dreaming about because there is a need for good Christian examples in homeschooling in my area. If your going to do something for the Lord we need to give the Lord our best. We need to take time and organize and do things right. The Lord does not operate in confusion. When you see hints of disorganization and chaos that is a hint that something isn't quite right. The Lord can't bless you if your under the headship of mess.

**Let us know if you ever had issues with co ops or co-op classes or play groups.

Sisters in Christ, Come on in and grab a cup of tea.
Let's talk about ... Are You Sitting On Your Dreams? You have taken the time to create a vision board like the Words says. You made the vision clear but now you are feeling like nothing is happening.

Well, that means you have to evaluate your board and make sure its not just filled with a bunch of things you wanted without consulting with the Lord. The Lord is not going to desire for you to go to Cancun, Mexico when your in debt. Let's be honest, did you talk to the Lord and pray before you created that board? Your dreams and the Lord's dreams should be in alignment.

The Lord will give you a dream when you are asleep about what he wants you to do. The Lord may give you a desire that you can't shake. He has given you certain talents in a certain area that complements the dream. You may even have education in that area of your dream.

If he gave you the vision then you have to TRUST that the Lord is going to make it happen. He doesn't expect you to sit around and wait for something to happen. You need to be doing something to prepare for what is to come. Did the Lord tell you to take a particular job or are you just wasting time on godless things to get money, to please parents and friends? Paul wrote, "All things are lawful for me, but not all things are helpful..." (1 Cor. 10:23) Sometimes you just do things in life that are a waste of time. Your dreams will go hand in hand with your God given talents.

How can I tell if my dream is a God's dream?

Well you will know if. . .
1. You can not let it go. If you keep having the same dream over and over again.
2. You are willing to focus on the dream and give everything to it.
3. Your dream meets a need that nothing else has seem to fulfill
4. It brings glory to God.
5. Your dream is bigger than yourself.

Gen 41:12-13 "We told him our dreams, and he interpreted them for us, giving each man the interpretation of his dream. And things turned out exactly as he interpreted them to us."

Let us know how you are progressing with your VISION BOARD. Leave a comment.
Let's talk about ...Saving Christmas.
Its a new movie by Kirk Cameron.
Sisters in Christ, Come on in and grab a cup of tea.
Let's talk about . . . Kindness: Pay It Forward.

Jesus ministry taught us simple lessons like being kind. He didn't ask us to do things that were too hard or impossible to achieve. Imagine, It doesn't take much time to be kind. It doesn't take much money to be kind. All it takes is a little effort.

I want to remind you today that kindness really goes a long way. It is not always easy or popular to be kind to others. But I always remind my kids that our reward as Christians is not here on earth. You make an effort to be kind to others because it is the right thing to do.

I don't know what your going through today but I would like to encourage you to NOT always think about yourself. There is someone going through something worse.

Today try to extend your hands to a fellow human. Christianity is NOT always your words. You can spread the word of the Lord with your action.

If you haven't seen this, it will make you rethink every situation you may face today.

Sisters in Christ, Come on in and grab a cup of tea.
Let's talk about ... Preparing to Homeschool.

My family just decide we would homeschool earlier this summer. I never thought I would homeschool even though I thought about it when my kids were infants. I guess one can say the Lord led me to homeschool because of a few reasons, the number one being that my kids private school which I was paying high tuition for them to attend didn't live up to their mission. As an advance degree holder I didn't feel my sons were being prepared for college. I'm preparing them at home and the school is contradicting our desire for our children.

As a Christian, classroom teacher and product of religious education, I was shock and angry with how education is being watered down, even in private schools. Many private schools are now so hungry for tuition that they are quietly lowering their standards. Some seasoned teachers lack appropriate degrees and were not even Christian School certified. I personally feel that in this day and age no one teaching elementary students in a classroom environment should not be educationally prepared. There are too many issues in the classroom without Christians being prepared for their profession. Would you go to a doctor who wanted to operate on your heart and you found out he failed the his medical exam?

I am pro education, I don't have a problem with traditional education in theory. However, when it doesn't work as a parent I need options so here I am homeschooling. I feel I can just do it my self. Some of the P.T.A. members of my kids former school were angry that I didn't stick around but change takes a long time.
I just wasn't willing to use my child's education while they try to get themselves together. Now I am rushing and planning because I need to have all these things ready for my kids first day of homeschool. I am feeling a little overwhelmed. I am also sick of some of my Christian associates telling a hundred reason why home schooling is wrong and how my children will not thrive. How they won't be able to socialize. Really people! Maybe 30 years ago homeschooling was more isolated. In my few months of researching I have found out that over 4,000 kids in my area are homeschooled. There are over 50 co ops on every religion, interest or teaching style. You rather me pay money for them to learn nothing? Sometimes you just have to just ignore foolishness.

My teaching style is similar to Marva Collins (famous classical educator from Chicago) and Charlotte Mason. It basically means I am a traditional educator who believes students should read and explain their understanding of the material. My children are college bound so I want them prepared with mastery of the basics.

I am using a mixture of co op classes, tutorial center classes and internet courses. I will also teach a class at two different co ops so my kids can go there free. My personality is I can't stay in the house. If you have used any of the material below, please share how it worked for your family. Here is the curriculum I am planning to use:

a newbie too, please email me or lets chat, I would like to know about your journey.

Sisters in Christ, Come on in and grab a cup of tea. Let's talk about ... How to Deal With Difficulties.

A teacher once said to me "what doesn't kill you, will make you stronger." Of course that is not a biblical statement. I think that may even be a song she was quoting. T

he truth is that everyone at one time or the other will find themselves faced with some hardship. It can
me a relationship, financial or work related. The point is really, how will you handle it? The word
reminds us difficulties isn't a new thing:

Watch yourselves, so that you may not lose what we have worked for, but may win a full reward -2John1:8 ESV

But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.-Romans 5-8 ESV

Do two walk together, unless they have agreed to meet? -Amos 3:3

Sanctify them in the truth; your word is truth.-John 17:17

I don't know what your facing today. But I know who to go to who can solve any problem under the sun.
Why waste your time worrying, Just stop! and pray about it. Give the Lord a chance to solve your problems.

Let it go.

Trust the Lord to make things better. Do I need to remind you that He has the power in hands to solve your issues. Once you truly release your issues to him, then you too can sing "Its a Beautiful Day," by Jamie Grace.

Its so very important that we not dwell on things we can not change. We have to realize that we do not control our life. We have to understand that some things are all in the WILL of the Lord. You can choose how you will deal with things when difficulties arise.

Every time I play the song in my car, my kids scream "Not again!" This is my little reminder that things will and can get better.Take a moment and listen to the video above. I know it will put a smile on your face.
Like does for me.

I think about the following when I listen to parts of the song:

Wake Up And Smile - Sisters, its easy to be mad about nothing. Its harder to wake up and look in the mirror and smile at yourself.

Strong in the Face - I don't want to be strong in the face, I want my heart to be strong.

Your My Refuge I Can't Wait To Get To- The Lord is my place of rest.

Your Sunshine Shines on My Face- I feel a peace when I release my issues to the Lord;

I'm About to Get My Worship On- I give the Lord all the praise and honor.

When Trouble Seems to Rain on My dreams- I don't worry, I trust the journey the Lord has for me.

In You I am Free- Amen! We have to all learn to LET IT GO!

Won't Let A Day Go By- I make time to thank the Lord, even ahead of the blessings.

Its A Beautiful Day- It reminds me of the promises of the Lord.

I Don't Got Room for Doubts- Trust and doubt don't go together.

Your Amazing Grace- I don't deserve anything but He give me grace.

I Am About to Sing a Brand New Song- I can't continue to operate like I don't the Lord.

I love the song because the words speak to my heart. I hope it will speak to yours too. How do you deal
with Difficulties in your life? Please post a comment.

Sisters in Christ, Come on in and grab a cup of tea.
Let's talk about ... Top 5 Books Christian Divas Are Reading. What are you reading this summer? Are you reading any good Christian Fiction?

I don't know about you but I love to read in the summer especially on the beach.
I will spend 8 hours and just read. I get very angry when the book I chose is terrible because
the environment is right, the sun is right and all I need is for the book to be good. I love to read fictions on the beach but that is my thing. I especially love Historical Christian Fiction which are few and far between. Let me be honest finding a good Christian book is hard to find period. Some writers are just awful and their characters stereotypical Christians. You know I hated scary Christians and I hate books where the main characters are these weird scary people.

I tend to go by recommendations as to what book to check out first. Sometimes I buy books and put them on my shelf and then I discover them years later, lol. Here are a few books my social media pals told me were great or they are reading. I took an inform poll and tried to narrow down my list.
Sisters in Christ, Come on in and grab a cup of tea.
Let's talk about For Better or For Worse.

For Better or For Worse, is a new

Hallmark Original Movies starring television childhood darlings Kim Fields and Lisa Whelchel. You should remember or have hear of the show The Facts of Life. The show is based on the novel of the same name by best-selling author Diann Hunt.

Surprisely, both actress are Christians and have managed to stay working in the fickle world of Hollywood. Kim Fields moved on to several television shows over the years and now she is a well respected Director and Producer. Lisa Whelchel went on to become an author, homeschool advocate and Moms Conference creator.

I hope everyone will make time to watch the show because this is the first time in many years that the two actress will work together. Enjoy the preview and tell me what you think.
Opposites attract when Wendy (Lisa Whelchel), a wedding coordinator, and Marco (Antonio Cupo), a divorce attorney, find their lives suddenly intertwined. Wendy is finally settling into the single life after struggling with the death of her husband. After a difficult season of grief, she's taken over the family business of coordinating the town's most beautiful and memorable weddings with the help of her friend and co-worker Roseanne (Kim Fields). Wendy's business and values are challenged, however, when the charming and incredibly irritating Marco opens shop as a divorce attorney right next to her wedding chapel. Although Wendy will stop at nothing to promote her marriage business over Marco's divorce business, she must form an alliance with Marco after her son Collin (Edward Ruttle) announces his unexpected engagement to Marco's daughter Sophia (Alicia Josipovic). As Wendy grows closer to Marco, she begins to realize that if she shields herself from the pain of love lost, she may prevent herself from experiencing true love in the future. Will Wendy open up to a second chance at love?

Let's talk about ...I am second: Kay Robertson.
It is so amazing how The Lord gives us just what we need when we are faced with different challenges.

When you are going through difficulty it's often hard to positive and trust The Lord that he still has your back despite the current situation.

I hope you will be inspired by Kay Robertson's testimony. She learned so much being a poor, young mom with three kids and an alcoholic husband. She learned to be steadfast in her prayers.
Sisters in Christ, Come on in and grab a cup of tea.
Let's talk about ...Whose Running Your Life?

Do you have people in your life who are trying to control your life? If you get angry because you are not getting your way, you need to stop and check yourself. How would those close to you describe you? Would those close to you say you are angry, spoiled, big brat, always cussing or something just s mad?

Well, have you ever thought that you may be a controller or manipulator. You act out because you are not in control of the person or situation. Deep down you are a fearful person who may be a little insecure.I am not saying your a bad person but if you are doing this you just have to change and start pleasing the Lord.

Can you tell if someone is trying to control or manipulate you or your life? Yes you can tell. Look for some of these signs:

1. THE PERSON IS CLOSE TO YOU IN PROXIMITY (spouse, family member, friend, coworker or boss) Those close to use seem to be the main people who try to control our lives. Remember Adam & Eve, Sarah & Hagar, or Peter & Jesus but that doesn't make it right.

2. THEY EXHIBIT CERTAIN CHARACTER TRAITS
Many controllers and manipulators will try to make threats towards you are try to guilt you out. If the person makes a treat they make you feel that they will punish you. If you do not do what they want. These people will also use guilt often. Delilah told Samson, "IF you LOVED me, you would..." that is the oldest statement used to make a person feel they are not being loyal. Let us not forget, many controllers and manipulators will give you the silent treatment and wait for you to worry and fret about what is wrong with them. If you deal with this type of person you have to realize they are dealing with a lot of mess in their head.

3. REALIZE YOU ARE BEING TAKEN FOR GRANTED
Jesus recognized when Peter was trying to manipulate him. Awh! You need to stop and think about those in your life who have been using you as a "doormat" for years. If you continue to allow someone to take over and control your life, guess what!?! The Lord did tell you to allow others to walk over you. However if you continue this road, I want to remind you--this is a sin. It is more likely called IDOLATRY.

The Lord wants us to please HIM. Letting people control YOUR life is not pleasing to the Lord. The Lord despite all his power never tries to control our life, he give us FREE will. Why do you think that you have to be in control or let others control you?

Does it have to do with your lack of trust?

Are you really trusting the Lord? It is not about you and your talents or ability. You have to TRUST that the Lords is in control and things will end up according to HIS will.

Let's cut to the chase, if you are trying to be controlling or manipulating, let me let you know that you are practicing WITCHCRAFT!

If you are struggling with being a controlling sister, guess what? The Lord can help you deal with your little issue. Before you go blog hoppin.

STOP! Let's pray about your controlling issue.

Sisters in Christ, Come on in and grab a cup of tea.
Let's talk about ...Stop Putting it Off.

<strong style="background-color: white; border: 0px currentColor; color: #373737; font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 15px; line-height: 24.37px; margin: 0px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">“I don’t really understand myself, for I want to do what is right, but I don’t do it. Instead, I do what I hate.” Romans 7:15 NLT

Now you know that this verse is talking about Procrastination. Well my question to you today is having you been procrastinating in any area of your life? Why don't you understand yourself. You know your dreams and desires. You know what you need to do to achieve your goals but you don't.

STOP! And Pray. Ask the Lord to reveal to you what is really going on. Is it fear, self-doubt, lack of education, lack of money, etc.? You know all that doesn't really matter because if you TRUST the LORD. He will work all that stuff out.

Aren't you tired of DREAMING? Aren't you tired of all the excuses? Aren't you tired off looking at your beautiful vision board with nothing accomplished? Aren't you tired of being tired?

When are you going to STOP saying: "I will get to it tomorrow!

Have you ever thought that maybe you are deceiving yourself about achieving your goals? The reality is your putting things off making excuses for your sin. Yes, Procrastination is truly a sin. If the Lord gives you the idea, vision, and ability then you can be obedient and just do it.

Start trusting the Lord and make some efforts. Yes, It will look impossible but you already know that everything is possible for the Lord. He is our great I AM. Stop putting off your destiny and start walking in FAITH.

Do you want to share about what needs to change in your life?
