Please have a seat a lets chat a little about prayer. Why did you forget to pray today?
Have you forget that this is the highest priviledge we have as Christians, to communicate with God and let him speak to you?
You say you just forgot?
Are you sure your not mad with God?
Sometimes we think prayer is a one way thing..we talk, talk, talk, or ask, ask, ask
But do you take time to be still and listen to the Lord.
Or do you just have a one side conversation? Have you every spoke to some one who dominated the conversation? How did they make you feel? Did you stop listening?
Roman 15:30 says "Now, I beseech you, brethren, for the Lord Jesus Christ's sake, and for the love of the Spirit, that ye strive together with me in your prayers"
God word says some simple things:
1. We are to pray to God the Father and God the Son (Matt 6:9, I Cor.1:2, Acts 12:5, Heb4:16)
-Okay, no one should be praying through Mary, or saints, etc.. So if you disobey God your prayers won't be answered.
2. We are commanded to pray in the name of Jesus Christ (John 14:13, 16:23. I Cor. 1:2)
3. We are commanded to pray with the help of the Holy Spirit (Rom 8:26, 27) We are to pray in the Spirit (Eph. 6:8).
-If your praying to other "spirits and mediums" your doing something wrong. Once you accept God as your saviour the Holy spirit comes into your heart and we belong to God. Let me break in down: When Christians pray, God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit
all work with us for us.
If your saying to yourself okay I know all that already and I have accepted Jesus but why are my prayers not being answered?
Whaat is hindering your prayers: There is a simple answer: YOU!!!! YOU!!! YOU!
1. (Heb 11:6) Without faith its impossible to please God. Your unbelief is hindering your prayers.
2.(James 4:3, Ps 106:15, I John 5:14) Your motive is wrong. You demand things which are not is his will. Remember Ps. 37:5, God says commit thy way unto the Lord;trust also in him, and he shall bring it to pass.
3.Not reading and obeying God's word hinders prayers from being answered.
Poverbers 28:9 says "He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination.
4.Empty repetition of words will hinder you prayers (James 5:16, Mark 11:24 and Matt. 6:7). Make sure your not just quoting a prayer...ritual type prayers.
5. Disharmony in the Christian Home Hinders Prayer. Read I Peter 3:7.
Oh.....did you hear what the word says.lol Christian homes should be filled with harmony. Uhhhhhh Ummmm. The Lord can't hear you amongst all that mess in your home (that's me not the Bible).
6.Unforgiving Spirit Hinders Prayer
.....if we do not forgive,neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses. Mark11:25,26) God can't forgive us of our sins if we want to keep it. Matt: 5:23 - 24) speaks about holding grudges.
Oh boy sisters, we have to get things together in our homes and prayer life so we can be blessed. Now, you need to that time and read the bible reference above pertaining to you and then go have a little talk with Jesus so you can get the answers to your prayers.
