Praise the Lord!
Come in my sisters and have a seat so we can drink some tea together. Today we are going to chat about........CHRONIC ILLNESS.

This is our 2nd year trying to promoter National Invisible Chronic Illness Awareness Week (September 8-14, 2008) Many people you know may be quietly suffering from a
chronic illness. Yes, many don't look sick in the traditional senses but many thousands of people are experiencing some sort of physical pain. Many go through the day with some sort of discomfort. Sometimes it takes years for these people to get a diagnosis from doctors.
Some illness have names like: multiple sclerosis, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, diabetes, arthritis, heart disease, autism, migraines, chronic back pain, cancer, endometriosis, eating disorders, and yes... mental illness and depression. If you have it and it can't be seen, you qualify!

My prayer is that you would take a moment and thank the Lord of every day you are able to get up and go through life without any aches or pains. Thank our heavenly Father for the small blessings he has given you. Many famous people have Chronic Illness such as Lupus:

Tim Raines, a former baseball player
Ferdiand Marcos, former philipine dictator- died from lupus in 1989
Michael Jackson- has Discoid Lupus since early 1980’s
Caroline Dorough-Cochran, sister of Back Street Boys, died at age 32
Mercedes Yvette, runner up to from Season 2 of America’s Next Top Model
Millie, President Bush’s Dog ( I did not know dogs could have lupus.)
Elaine Page, British Actress and Singer
Seal, singer -discoid lupus to face
Ray Walston- character Actor
Louisa May Alcott, an American author

There are many people in your community fighting Chronic Illness. I want you to be aware.
You can find out more at http://www.invisibleillness.com/ . Hope you will join me. I think it’s important that we speak up about it because many people are suffering alone in silence.
