Are You Stuck In A Rut?

Sisters, come on in and have a cup of tea and lets talk about ...                                                                    Are you stuck in a rut?

I will admit that I was stuck in a rut. for the last few years I have not felt like doing anything physical even though I am a former athlete. For some reason I got caught up in the tv watching and being a couch potato.

My children asked me to go bike riding and I have not been in over 15 years. In my head I began to get nervous and kept telling myself I was too old and I could not do it. I thought about every excuse, I mean I was making things up in my head as to why I could not. Then the holy spirit whispered in my ear, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."

Ouch! I always quote that to my children and now the holy spirit was telling me to live what I preach. I got up the nerve and pulled out my new bike from five years ago. I had to take of the sticker price and all the tags. For some reason I was nervous as I sat on the seat. Then I began to pedal. Guess what? I was surprise I didn't forget how to ride. I had a great time as I began to remember how I use to love to ride but as I got older I started to get stuck in a routine.

As time goes by, we all find ourselves getting into a habit of some sort. However, if one is not careful some habits can become bondage.

Doing things in your life over and over can become quite boring and you can find yourself stuck in a rut. Being stuck in a rut is not a good thing. In order to have a full life one needs a little variety.

I am always sadden by the number of "bucket list" I see on some blogs. I mean some people have little things such as going to an opera as a dream they have in life. In my eyes that is something that is attainable. But in the eyes of some people it just seems so impossible. If you just have a long list and you never check anything off then what is the point?

If you just go to work, got to church and then go home. What type of life is that? Day in and day out the same thing. But in your heart you dream of a little adventure--but you never actually try anything. Mmmm, is that really living a full life God has given you?

Time isn't promised and it doesn't last forever. The bible tells us to number our days. Ladies its time to start crossing things off of you list. If you keep putting things off you will never do it.

Your assignment is to plan something new to do this weekend and then report back to us your results.
