No, I Don't Celebrate Halloween

No, I Don't Celebrate Halloween, Hallelujah Night, Harvest Festival or any other alternative or substitute to Halloween! Halloween has strong roots in paganism and is closely connected with worship of Satan. It is a holiday that generally glorifies the dark things of this world, rather than the light of Jesus Christ.

Just like those in the Muslim or Jewish faith do not celebrate Pine Tree Day on December 25th as an alternative to Christmas. I do not celebrate Halloween. I do not think my children need an alternative to a day that promotes things of Darkness.

I do not feel the pressure that my children are missing out on something and need a "Christian alternative." Isn't that a misnomer.  I am raising children who are not afraid of the Word of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Soliders in the army for the Lord have to learned that they have to do things differently from those in the world (Heb. 11:13-16; 1 Peter 2:11).

Children can comprehend that they can't serve two masters. My children know our family is not afraid to take a stand and they don't feel bad for never celebrating the "Night of the Dead." Its sad, and down right embrassing to see all those Halloween advertisements from local churches. Its really sad when Christian can't stad up to the gospel. This really bothers me.

Our children can't see us standing for anything of principle; as a result, many children are just falling for anything. I really can't believe how this generation of ministers, pastors and preachers are letting the world creep into God's house.

As you talk to your child today about this celebration take time and explain that "the fight isn't against non-Christians, Christians who feel differently than we about Halloween, or institutions that promote Halloween, but" "against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places" (Ephesians 6:12, NKJV).

So don't even think about knocking on my door begging for candy because as for me and my household, we are not interested in Halloween.
