The Gift of Time: Are You Wasting it?

Sisters, come on in and grab a cup of tea and lets talk about ...the gift of TIME.

Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows." James 1:17 (NIV)

Imagine, the Lord has blessed us with 24 hours. We all have between 6-7 hours after work or school to do some of those things on our "bucket" list but are we using our gift wisely. If your bucket list keeps getting longer and therre isn't anything checked off then you and your family is wasting time. Time is precious and you can't afford to waste it.

How can you get control of your time? First, make a list of everyon's schedule and evaluate any issues. Are we wasting time as a family going to too many activities or practices? Have we over committed our time on committes at church, school, in the community or with other organizations?

We can't do things that just eat up our time and is not making our quality of life better. Think of ways you can decrease chores and errands? Can you declutter so you don't have to clean so much because there is way too much stuff from clothes, toys, books to useless things? Can you order your grocery online--the extra delivery cost is worht it if you will have two hours for family night. Are you wasting your Saturdays to the point where your family no longer enjoy new experiences?

Wouldn't it be nice to have time to teach your daughter to cook grandma's cake recipe? Wouldn't it be nice to play SCRABBLE every evening after work with your husband? Wouldn't it be nice to kick your feet up and read a book during the week? Wouldn't it be nice to go to bible study with the stress of neglecting something? Wouldn't it be nice to go bike riding after dinner? Wouldn't it be nice to go visit grandma without the stress of all the things you need to get done? What are you doing with the time God has given you?
