Stop Celebrating Halloween

Sisters, come on in and grab a cup of tea and lets talk about ...Celebrating Halloween.

The bible is very plain and clear: 3 John 1:11—“do not imitate what is evil”  2 Corinthians 6:14-17—“what fellowship can light have with darkness?” That is the question I have for all of you who say you are Christians. You serve God and fellowship with darkness. James 1:27—“keep oneself from being polluted by the world”

That is what your doing as Christians who dress their kids up every Halloween and  take them down to the church to celebrate what you call Harvert Fest, Holy Night, Amen Night, etc.

1 Thessalonians 5:21-22—“Test everything. Hold on to the good. Avoid every kind of evil.”

Well, I was even sadden and disappointed when I heard a church in my area encourage the children to dress up like bible characters. Why are we lying to ourselves calling darkness light? Why is it so hard to leave our previous sinful life?

How can Christian parents teach their children about peer pressure when we can't even pull ourselves away from celebrating a pagan holiday? You are teaching double talk. Its okay to smoke drugs, just don't enhale. I know that may seem extreme but it really is not. You don't want to be the bad mom, the mean mom, etc. instead of mom who want to really focus on the spiritual development of their children.

Deuteronomy 18:9-14—do not learn to imitate detestable ways, including spiritists, sorcerers and witchcraft.

If we know the word then why are we imitating darkness. We know that dressing up in those little costumes are not right. We know knocking door to door is wrong, we know all those things show we support, celebrate things that really are not Godly.

This year I pray that you would consider celebrating the beauty of Fall and not the holiday Halloween. We don't want our Christian children to think that we can't separate ourselves from the things of the world. Let them know that you are not scared of the gospel of the Lord. Let your children know that Halloween has the appearance of evil; however, your family is not going to entertain this foolishness this year.

  1. Amen....I agree. My children have never celebrated Halloween. In school the children are encouraged to wear their favorite cartoon characters for a school parade. There is no mention of Halloween ever. I appreciate that for my children. We love the Lord! And our children will tell you that First and Foremost! Blessings my friend...

  2. My mom wasn't a sewer, but she was very creative. She had lace everywhere in the house on furniture, tables, chairs, sofas, curtains...there was an abundance of lace! Sorry..I didn't have your email address..

  3. This has been on my mind. I allow my kids to participate in the festivities but in the back of my mind I feel uneasy. Coming across this post is just confirmation that I need to make a change regarding Halloween. Thanks!
