Following the Voice of the Lord: 3 Easy Steps

Sisters, Come on in and grab a cup of tea. Let's talk about ...Following the Voice of Lord: 3 Easy Steps. Today, I was inspired by the faith journey of my coworker who came in and quit her job.

My coworker shared her faith journey with us before she quit her job at lunch. She said the Lord spoke to her years ago in college about going on the missions field. She took lots of undergrad courses in Spanish so she felt one day she would be a missionary in a Spanish country. She heard the voice of the Lord, but some things came up.

She got a job. She had student loans to repay.
She he got married. She had child. She had another. She purchased a home. She had bills to pay.

Well, the voice of God returned this past Christmas and it told her it was time to move. She spoke to her husband. She didn't know that the Lord had spoke to him too and he felt that they had to prepare for a change that would be coming. He had no idea that the Lord was talking about going to another country. He was thinking it was to move south to closer to his family. They discussed, the prayed, they tried to talk themselves out of it but the Lord kept telling them it was time to move into their mission.

The Lord told her husband he needed to expand his education with a Masters Degree from seminary. They decided they needed to prepare for their next journey. They went to visit the seminary last month. While on the tour the husband share he would be looking for a job. At the end of tour he was offered a job. They were blessed with free graduate housing. They came back home and signed with a real estate agent-- the house sold in three days. Imagine in this economy!

The Lord just made her family transition so easy once they decided to have faith and follow his desire for their life. Every concern they had the Lord blessed them. He got rid of the fear of the "what ifs." She said goodbye at lunch. We cried. We gave her a cake and hugs and then she was gone.

When we listen to the voice of the Lord in our Life things become so easy. When we are odedient our dreams and desires are not an issue.

How about you?

What has the Lord been telling you to do for years. Stop making excuses because nothing is impossible for the Lord. Fear is not of the Lord. Now, if you don't have a prayer life and a relationship with the Lord. Don't be a fool and quit your job. I am talking to some of you seasoned saints who keep operating in fear and you are not trusting or listening to the voice of the Lord.
 The word reminds us:
If you will listen diligently to the voice of the Lord your God, being watchful to do all His commandments which I command you this day the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth. (Deut. 28:1, Amplified Bible)

It is useless to argue with the words of Jesus: " 'How much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!' ” (Matt. 7:11, NKJV).

In John 4:35 Jesus said, “ 'Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest!' ”

I, like you, need to stop making excuses and start moving towards our destiny.

Three Easy Steps:
1. Be Still. I mean this week cancel all those unneccesary appointments, meetings, or mental clutter in life. Stop talking and thinking about the things you need to do. Just go in your bathroom, closet, to the park and just sit still and talk to the Lord and pray and listen to him.

2. Read the Word. Get up early. Yes, I mean early in the morning. It will be a sacrifice but your
house will be quiet and still. Read the bible and the Lord can speak to you and you can recognize his voice.

3. Don't Listen to Others.
Its good to get physically away even for an hour. I think you sometimes need to turn everything off especially the cell and telephone. Distraction and unwanted opinions can tear you away from the Lord. Its like trying to talk to someone in a crowd.

Ladies, the Lord need servants who are willing to operate in their gifts he has given them. Its time for you to take the first step and follow his voice so you an help expand the kingdom for him.

Be A Blessing!
