The Grace Card," the first filmmaking venture of the Calvary Church in Tennessee. This movie seeks to examine the theme of grace and forgiveness. What happens when strongholds such as anger begin to control ones life? What happens when one has not learned how to surrender to the WILL of the Lord?

The movie explore Bill "Mac" McDonald (Michael Joiner), a Memphis police officer who continues to mourn the death of a child he lost. The film does an excellent job showcasing the journey to emotional and spiritual health. Mac takes out his frustration on everyone he meets. His wife, Sara (Joy Parmer Moore), and the couple's surviving son, Blake (Rob Erickson), are depressed about the state of their family. To make matters worse, Mac is having difficulties at work and is faced with a new partner, Sam Wright (Michael Higgenbottom), an African American cop who moonlights as a pastor in growing Christian church. Oscar winner Louis Gossett, Jr. (“An Officer and a Gentleman”) who plays a grandfather, is the voice of reason for Sam. Mac's is a damaged soul yearning to be saved.

What happens when one just can not forgive?

The film also explore racially charged situation in which a man consumed by despair is teamed with a man of faith dealing with his own frustrated professional ambitions and prejudices. The only areas of the film I disliked was directors choice to make the film very dark in his technique. The film also missed the mark on the portrayal of an African American preacher delivering a sermon. It was not believable and the dialogue was off. I found the African American church scene to be very cliché.

Grace Card is a good spiritual movie that most people will enjoy. Watch the trailer below and make plans to see
